IT Asset Officer:
The IT Asset Officer oversees the full lifecycle of IT assets within a public sector organization, ensuring effective governance, compliance with public procurement regulations, and alignment with strategic digital initiatives. The role ensures transparency, cost-efficiency, and sustainability in managing IT hardware, software, and licensing assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a centralized and accurate inventory of all IT assets (hardware, software, licenses).
- Ensure asset lifecycle management in accordance with public sector procurement and disposal regulations.
- Monitor software licensing to guarantee compliance and avoid legal or financial risk.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and internal audit teams to ensure transparent and compliant asset acquisition and tracking.
- Implement policies and procedures related to asset registration, usage, and decommissioning.
- Coordinate asset audits and reconcile discrepancies in asset records.
- Provide reports to support internal and external audits, financial planning, and decision-making.
- Support digital transformation and sustainability goals through optimized asset use and responsible disposal.
- Promote awareness and adherence to IT asset management practices across departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT asset management or IT operations, preferably in the public sector.
- You are fluent in French and Dutch with good knowledge of English
- Knowledge of public procurement rules and regulations (e.g., national or EU standards).
- Proficiency with IT asset management tools and systems (e.g., ServiceNow, GLPI, SCCM).
- Familiarity with software license compliance and vendor management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Understanding of public sector accountability, transparency, and governance requirements.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., CHAMP, CITAM).
- Knowledge of ITIL and public finance principles.
- Experience with open-source or government-recommended IT tools.
